SNIA Malaysia respects the privacy of our members, subscribers, suppliers, and other visitors to our website who choose to provide personal information. We recognise the need for appropriate protection and management of personal information that you provide to us. This Privacy Policy will assist you to understand what types of information we may collect, how that information may be used, and with whom the information may be shared.

Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to SNIA Malaysia being the regional chapter of the worldwide SNIA. SNIA is a non-profit trade association representing the storage and information management community.

SNIA Malaysia information process
Personal Information is information that identifies or can identify a specific individual. SNIA Malaysia may collect information about individuals such as their name, address, telephone number or e-mail address. SNIA Malaysia may collect certain personal information from members, subscribers, business partners, and delegates registering for events or training courses. SNIA Malaysia does not collect personal information when you visit SNIA Malaysia's website unless you choose to provide it to SNIA Malaysia.

Members and subscribers — On the SNIA Malaysia website you can register for events and courses, request information, subscribe to educational notices or access the members only sections. SNIA Malaysia will collect personal information from you for these purposes. The types of information you provide to SNIA Malaysia on these pages may include name, address, phone number, e-mail address, usernames and passwords, credit card or other financial information, and contact preferences.

How does SNIA Malaysia use membership and subscriber personal information?
SNIA Malaysia will use personal information to provide members and subscribers with information on activities which you have previously selected as being of interest. We may also use it to contact you by electronic or other means such as telephone or mail, to tell you about events and services of SNIA Malaysia if we think this may be of interest to you.

SNIA Malaysia will not share the personal information that you have submitted to SNIA Malaysia without your consent. You will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe from any of the options chosen at any point.

With whom does SNIA Malaysia share personal information?
SNIA Malaysia contracts with third party service providers and suppliers to deliver membership services and events.

SNIA Malaysia may share personal information with its service providers and suppliers for the sole purpose and only to the extent needed to communicate with the membership to support their chosen area of interest.. Service providers and suppliers are required to keep confidential and secure the personal information received from SNIA Malaysia and may not use it for any purpose other than as originally intended.

Third party service providers and suppliers receiving personal information are expected to apply the same level of privacy protection as contained in this Privacy Policy. However, unless otherwise dictated by law or agreement, SNIA Malaysia is not responsible for any improper use by such parties.

Unless permitted by relevant laws, or you have agreed to this, SNIA Malaysia will not share personal information you provided to SNIA Malaysia with any other third parties without your permission, or sell, trade or lease your personal information to others.

Options
SNIA Malaysia does not require that our visitors to SNIA Malaysia websites provide SNIA Malaysia with personal information. The decision to provide personal information is your choice. If you do not wish to provide the personal information requested, however, you may not be able to receive the information you requested. The SNIA Malaysia websites may provide links to third-party websites for your convenience and information. If you access those links, you will leave the SNIA Malaysia web site.
